Our Story

Homestead's founders met at MIT’s graduate School of Architecture and City Planning. Before founding Homestead, they worked in Beijing, Mexico City, Tokyo, and San Francisco at some of the best architecture firms in the world. Together they worked on affordable housing projects, developed new building technology for NASA, and collaborated on projects for the Center For Advanced Urbanism at MIT’s Media Lab.

We created Homestead to help homeowners get the most out of their property. In 2019. the best way to do that was by adding an ADU. In 2022, the best way is through SB9. With Homestead any homeowner can look up their address, see options to maximize their property value, and start developing their property. All without lifting a finger or putting any money down. We want to provide homeowners a clear path to financial stability, while empowering them to solve California's housing crisis.
